Freedom Now is a non-profit making organisation. It was founded in 1988 to assist British nationals who are arrested overseas. Since it began, Freedom Now has assisted in the release of eight people from Death Row, and has obtained the release of a number of other British prisoners following long jail sentences for which they had been wrongly convicted.

The organisation is managed by Andrew McCooey who is an experienced criminal lawyer and who has dealt with many cases in foreign jurisdictions.

He has rights of audience up to the highest courts in the United kingdom, and with experience that stems from many years of practice can advise in any emergency that involves Police, Courts, and the law in general.
